COVID-19 Vaccination in Pregnancy and Lactation

The American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology and recently released statement regarding COVID-19 Vaccination use in pregnancy and lactation. In summary, pregnant and lactating women who are at high risk of contracting the virus, should be offered the vaccine. The vaccine is a mRNA, non live vaccine and does not interfere with genetics. The vaccine has not been tested in pregnant women, thus the risks to patient and fetus are unknown. The notable side effects are: allergic reaction, rash, flu-like illness.
